Evanston, Illinois…DM Systems, Inc., manufacturer of Heelift® Suspension Boot, announces the availability of results from a survey conducted at the WOCN 2008 Conference. The results reveal WOCN members are active in tracking heel pressure ulcer risk and are equally aware of how CMS changes will influence their work.
Because heel pressure ulcers are so dominant in the thinking of WOC nurses, the upcoming changes in the CMS Guidelines are clearly weighing heavily on their minds. Of the respondents, 84% felt that the new guidelines would have a significant impact on the pressure ulcer prevention protocol at their facility. With so many nurses indicating that they already work within the guidelines of a preventive protocol, it is important to consider that even for those nurses, the CMS Guidelines are a pressing issue. For those facilities that do not currently have a heel pressure ulcer protocol, the CMS changes will obviously alter their method of treating patients even more.
DM Systems, Inc., is the manufacturer of Heelift® Suspension Boot, now available in three configurations: Standard, Petite, and Bariatric.
